Welcome to my Audi R8 3D Car Modeling Tutorial. This Tutorial series will be looking at the tools and techniques required to create a high poly, fully realized Audi R8 Spyder. The series uses Autodesk Maya to complete the vehicle however, any 3D software will allow you to achieve the same result just using different tools with a different interface. I have attached all the files needed to get started, ready formatted to import straight into your 3D package.

Part 1
Getting started, discussing the first poly’s and working around the front.
Part 2
Continuing the front bumper, moving up to wing and onto the hood.
Part 3
Starting to work down the side of the car before moving onto the back.
Part 4
Moving onto the rear bumper including the starting the diffuser.
Part 5
More details on the rear diffuser before starting the rear quarter.
Part 6
Forming the lower side of the car including the side skirts.
Part 7
Starting the engine cover on the rear portion of the car.
Part 8
Forming the door paying attention to the airflow into the intake.
Part 9
Starting the roof, extruding the rear window and adding seals.
Part 10
The base mesh is now complete, we will start to smooth the front bumper.

Adding the surrounds for the front vents in the front bumper.

Adding the Headlight surround trim and smoothing the side panel.
Part 13
Extruding and smoothing the Hood of the car before extracting the door handle.
Part 14
Smoothing the A Pillar around the windscreen and one of the rear quarters.
Part 15
Smoothing and adding details to the Door before finishing the rear Quarter.
Part 16
Moving onto smoothing the rear of the car then starting the back Bumper
Part 17
Finishing the rear Bumper with Parking Sensors then starting the Engine Cover.
Part 18
Finishing the Engine Cover before moving onto the Canvas Roof.
Part 19
Smoothing the Rear Diffuser before adding the details to the Door Handle
Part 20
Starting to lay the base mesh down for the first spoke of the Alloy Wheels.
Part 21
Duplicating the first Spoke and smoothing off to finish the Alloy Wheels.
Part 22
Now that the main areas are smooth, time for the details starting with the Grill.
Part 23
Re-using the grill mesh to populate other areas before creating a honeycomb mesh.
Part 24
Moving onto the Wing Mirrors after completing the majority of the main details.
Part 25
Final touches to the body with a small spoiler to add some depth to the rear end.
Part 26
Working on the Exhaust tips and the extra details before starting some rear trim.
Part 27
Starting work on some of the finer details at the rear starting with the diffuser vents.
Part 28
Finishing the rear grill and adding some details to the top vents on the Engine Cover.
Part 29
Finishing up the smaller details and the top vents on the rear engine Cover.
Part 30
Taking some time away from the main model to create all the Badges.

Getting very close now, this video focuses on a lot of the smaller details.
